This is why houses on the coast are required to build living areas 14 feet above sea level now. Cars and utilities only down at ground level. I doubt that is where the boat docks normally. Here, as unlikely as it was that we would be hit, we prepared Friday and my husband saw the Airshow yesterday. All e had to do was bring in or tie our lawn furniture, grill and canoe. We generally get high wind because we live on a penninsula and are the first thing hit.
In NYC my sister's area in Battery Park was evacuated, and upstate they lost power in the morning. Since the power tends to stay out and they have a small generator they all go to a hotel.

But, except for some strong gusts at the height of the storm we dodged the bullet. So far, Knock on wood. I figure we will lose power right at the start of True Blood tonight.
