Why Would I Eat That?
Movie Theater Popcorn!

Have you ever wondered why we would deign to eat the crap they call hot popcorn at movie theaters? Why can't they just get a microwave and offer us a choice or like a restaurant that allows you to bring wine and charges a "corkage" fee, they could allow us to bring it and charge a "poppage fee." They health of the nation would go up. The smell of buttered popcorn is one of those scents that makes you hungry even if you just ate. But they should just name the theater stuff salty-hot-butter flavor-palm oil-coated styrofoam-with-sharp-bits-in-it.

Why do we tolerate it? Is there a darn thing we could do about it.

Surprisingly,to me at least,  Moviefone posted a great article by Gary Sussman Why You Can't Stop Eating Stale Popcorn at the Movies
A new study conducted by scholars at the University of Southern California and published in the journal Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin suggests that moviegoers can't help themselves. If you make a habit of eating popcorn at the movies, you'll keep eating and eating it throughout the picture, regardless of whether or not the popcorn is fresh or even tasty.

And, I have been meaning to send you this for a few days:
On Mental Floss
Chris Higgins has posted a set of Star Trek Blooper reels.
They're so funny. But is it just me or does Patrick Stewart's rendition of the Alphabet Song leave you feeling his hauteur you know as if you are lying in your bed eating stale movie popcorn and watching him on your laptop?
