Today's post is called due to fog.
Seriously, the fog is so thick I cannot see past the trees behind my house. As the sun warms the atmosphere it will burn off. In fact, it already is. One of the joys of coastal living. It is not photogenic, this fog. I tried.
Also, my Sub Zero has apparently destroyed its own evaporator. So, we're stuck home while the appliance dude comes to fix it. It requires removing everything from the fridge and $900. Now, while that costs more than my first refrigerator did, it costs a tenth of a new model of my thirteen year old beast. Seriously. And, I was told the fridge is only rated for 19 years of use.
What's funny is that we've had this vacuum condenser light flashing for months, even though we keep vacuuming it. I was told that sensor doesn't look at the dust, but at running time; if the fridge stays on a lot it usually means the coils need to be vacuumed. But, not always. It can also signal a lack of refrigerant due to a leak in the evaporator. So, what the light should do if it comes on again within a short period of time is say, sense long running time, if vacuumed recently call repair tech.

Needless to say we're going for the repair. It did give us an opportunity to really clean out fridge. Some of our fridge's interior rusted. I asked how much it would cost to repair it and was told a very shocking $300 to buy the thin strip of metal that edges the crisper unit. Can you imagine--A piece of metal about 20 inches long? We bought paint instead and fixed it!
