There is a super Holiday special DR.WHO, (Matt Smith), finds himself in WWII England with a young Widow and her two children.. The trailer makes me think two things: Nicole Kidman and her movie The Others (2001, Cruise/Wagner Productions), and an earlier Chronicles of Narnia.  Oh yeah what looks like the Lewis Chessmen make an appearance

White Christmas or Just Another Muddy Sunday

Like last week, it would appear we might have a White Christmas.  Or, like yesterday it could be in the sixties and we'll just have a messy, muddy Sunday. For us, a thrilling weekend of working on the shed, punctuated by nice visits with friends and family.  

I always recall Bing Crosby's song at the Holiday Inn: I'm dreaming of a White Christmas; just like the ones we used to know,...  I wonder, an early harbinger of global climate change?By the way, this is an iconic film, not in the same way as "It's a Wonderful Life" but in a silly musical sort of way.  It points to idyllic holidays.

Urp! It's Black Friday.  Who's going shopping?

Do you go for holiday gifts or yourself?

I get freaked out by crowds and because most of my gifts have to be shipped elsewhere most of mine are purchased online.  And many are from a local company, L.L.Bean.

Best wishes to merchants across the country for a good holiday season.  While that sounds trite, it isn't they are very important to our economy and the health of the economy is important to us all.

I had no idea it was the name of a movie.

I am looking forward to Cyber-Monday.
