PRESIDENT OBAMA'S RELIGION IN DOUBT IN ALABAMA & MISSISSIPPI

They also do not believe in evolution. And they have favorable opinions of Rick Santorum. 

Please tell me this is not true. Please.

Frankly I could care less what anyone's religion is as long as they are a decent human being. But, apparently a large portion of people here don't feel the same way.  Yet, people failing to believe facts as laid out in front of them is just remarkable.  This is the kind of belief that cause the Salem Witch Trials.  I wonder if they yet believe he is not a citizen as well.  I'd suggest you check the actual poll out (link below); this is not the only WTF result.  Well I guess they have the right to their opinion. But, people wake up to the facts just because he has a different name doesn't make him a particular religion. My last name is Greek, but I am not Greek Orthodox. Aren't we smarter than this?

Many in the South are not still convinced [sic, should read still not convinced] that President Obama is a Christian. A survey by Public Policy Polling reveals that a majority of Republicans in Alabama and Mississippi—states with primary elections on Tuesday—believe the president is a Muslim. Forty-five percent of Republican voters in Alabama think Obama is a Muslim, while 41 percent are "unsure." Only 14 percent believe he is Christian. In Mississippi, belief in the President's supposed Muslim faith is even stronger. Did GAME CHANGE make Palin look stupid?

It's obvious HBO's "Game Change," a dramatization of the 2008 presidential race, will be polarizing. But now that its airdate has come, we want to know: What did you think?

Did Sarah Palin look stupid? Or do you think it was a fair portrayal of the former Alaska governor-turned-vice presidential candidate?

In the above mentioned drama, Sarah is played by Julianne Moore and Ed Harris plays McCain.  I have yet to watch it and it is not yet up 'on demand.' But, Palin looking stupid is a moot question along the lines of the Pope's religion or what date the Fourth of July falls on. Conniving intelligence is not the same as smart because it can only get you to the point where people realize that is what you are and the rest is just "lipstick on a pitbull."

Apparently Palin didn't watch it but seems to know a lot about it. Deadline TV reports that she told ABC:

...I’m not going to go see the movie, neither is the good Sen. John McCain. We’ve discussed this and realized that Hollywood lies are Hollywood lies. They’re going to do what they can to drum up their money and their machine, and their machine happens to be a very pro-leftist, pro-Barack Obama machine there at HBO that created this movie...

It's no secret that I dislike Palin and think she isn't the brightest bulb in the box. I was shocked when McCain picked her as is running mate. As much as I believe having a woman as president would promote equality I would never be willing to sacrifice the office to make it happen. And, when you have anyone as advanced in years as McCain running you have to accept it as a very real possibility that could be the case. Even were McCain younger we've seen presidents leave office for other reasons.  Whoever acts as the President of the Senate is but one heartbeat away from the oval office and not just window dressing.

The Caucuses

I am going to go to the Democratic caucus today here in our town.  I know there's no "race" to speak of but according to the leadership of the Dems here, it's important to show support.  I feel that the scariness factor of the other ticket is way too high not to say right out loud OBAMA/BIDEN.

In the end, I did not get to the caucus.  My husband hit our back garage door with my  car mirror and had to put it back together.  Then I did some trim painting and we realized afterward that he had given me the wrong color paint.

Happy, Noisy and Sparkly Things!

We're having a potluck of some interesting pals tonight. Ten of us. It will be fun, I am making a standing rib roast. In all likelihood asleep in our respective beds by the time the year turns over.  I will announce a Twilight Saga Festival right after dinner!

The Daily Beast has a list out today of the best kisses of the year.  Bella and Edward in BD Part 1 is in the top spot. There's a slightly disturbing fake smooch between President Obama and Chinese President Hu Jintao photoshopped into a Benetton ad.  It is disturbing because they look into it, not a cordial smooch but full on lip kiss.The campaign includes many world leaders, The Pope was not amused.  But it seems the rest of the world might be.
